Learn the Logical Approach

Methodology

Adult learners want to be involved in the learning process and need to know how training will help them. GTCI's training programs are specially designed to answer these questions and to motivate learners. By relating a new learning experience to the student's current knowledge base, we create a want to learn environment that allows students to excel.

Topics relevant to job performance or daily activities help students understand why training is important and creates a basis for learning. As students recognize the importance or need for information, they are motivated to learn. Through positive, frequent and regular repetition, GTCI's problem-centered rather than content-centered training delivers knowledge in a way that helps learners succeed.

Critical Elements of Learning

Adult learning theory is incorporated in each training development program we undertake. By designing our curriculum around proven elements, we are able to create the best possible learning scenario.

We consider critical elements of adult learning to include:

Motivation - The participant recognizes the need for information

Reinforcement - The students retain information when it is presented on a frequent and regular basis

Retention - The student learning experience is positively affected by the amount of practice during learning

Transference - Knowledge is truly transferred when the student implements behavior taught in the course

Development based on the 5 Core Components

Clearly defined training goals and detailed course objectives are critical first steps in creating an effective learning program. At GTCI, we work with clients to develop a clear and measurable understanding of how best to deliver important information and achieve results. Key factors like the intended audience, delivery method and roll out schedule are all considered before curriculum design begins.

Armed with this knowledge, courses are designed within a logical course structure with information organized in order to maximize impact. Testing and learner feedback, incorporated throughout the development phase, helps create balance and consistency in every training program GTCI delivers.
